Standards and Practices
We prune according to accepted practice laid out by the ISA and ANSI A-300 standards. We follow natural target pruning and the writings, teachings and theories of Dr. Alex Shigo and Dr. Ed Gilman. In order to maintain the ISA Certified Arborist designation Paul regularly attends training seminars, industry get together, informative talks and enjoys reading trade magazines & books (manuals and reference) to keep the theories and practices at the most current level of knowledge and effectiveness. Phytopthora ramorum (AKA Sudden Oak Death) is a major concern in BC and we follow many of the best management practices for landscape contractors laid out by the BCLNA. Between jobsites we will clean all pruning tools (cutting parts) and footwear with Lysol or other disinfectant and purchase plants from SOD Certified nurseries when possible. We also change to clean gloves between worksites.
